ASHTON AUDIO IN ASSOCIATION WITH JLM AUDIO INTRODUCES THE BA2 MIC PRE.

The BA2 is a 1U, 2 channel transformer coupled microphone pre-amplifier with the option for either Discrete (DOA) or IC opamps with a gain range between 20dB – +60dB. (0dB with 20dB pad engaged).

JLM Audio, based in Brisbane, Australia have been providing hand built quality recording equipment to the pro audio community since 1984, either through their own custom built designs or offering selected kits.

Their latest offering is the Baby Animal (BA), a mic pre design that allows for over 10 input transformer options (JLM, Jensen, OEP, Lundahl), various Discrete (DOA) or IC opamps and either quasi, electrically or transformer +4dBu balanced outputs.

The DOA option fits the Jensen 990 opamp footprint making the pre amp compatible with opamps like the John Hardy 990C, Forssell Technologies JFET-992 & JFET-993, Millennia Media MM99 and of course the Class A JLM 99V, while the DIP 8 package offers options for NE5534AP, OPA2604 and LM833 IC's.

Each channel features an Active DI input along with a 20dB Pad, Phase/Polarity reversal as well as +48V Phantom Power.

The unit is powered by a 48v Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) which can run off between 90v to 250VAC and each power supply can provide power for up to 4 rack units (depending on the pre amp configuration) via the rear panel LINK option.

Each unit is hand built with imported quality components by Ashton Audio and comes with 1 year warranty on workmanship and parts.

The BA2 base model consists of 2 channels of BA pre amps with a the JLM custom wound 1:4 input transformer and the Class A JLM99V Discrete Opamp with quasi balanced +4dbu outputs.
